Michael is a mining finance consultant with more than 40 years of experience during which he has arranged, structured and advised on mining and metals related financings worldwide. Michael has dealt with mining companies, governments, multi-lateral institutions, corporates and banks on all aspects of financing, as well as acquisitions, disposals, restructurings and business combinations.

After 10 years of mine management and project related experience with BP Coal and BP Minerals, Michael moved into mining finance and over the last three decades he has held senior positions at Rothschild, Societe Generale, Barclays Capital and Resource Capital Funds.

Michael has also gained extensive mining company board experience over the last 15 years including service on various board committees – such as technical, sustainability, health & safety, audit, remuneration, nomination and special committees.

He is a Chartered Engineer, European Engineer and a Fellow of the Geological Society.
