Mike is a mining industry consultant with c. 40 years’ experience in the sector, 30 of which were with SRK Consulting. After starting his career on the gold mines in South Africa and Zimbabwe, Mike joined SRK, gaining responsibility for managing feasibility studies and competent persons’ reports on behalf of mining and exploration companies, and audits and due diligence studies on behalf of investment institutions or in support of M&A transactions.

Mike held various senior roles at SRK including Managing Director of SRK (UK) and Chairman of SRK (UK), SRK Russia, SRK Exploration Services and SRK Kazakhstan before serving in the role of Group Chairman for six years.

Since leaving SRK, Mike co-founded and is the CEO of Sarn Helen Gold. He also sits on several boards, including Tertiary Minerals and Central Asia Metals.

Mike has written several papers on resource and reserve estimation methodology, was a joint course co-ordinator at Cardiff University, external examiner Imperial College (University of London), sat as a council member and Vice President of the Geological Society and is Honorary Chairman of the Critical Minerals Association of the UK.
